Closing Reception

What a great night. Lots of friends and family showed up to support me at my closing reception last weekend. Despite a slight catastrophe (one wall of paintings wasn’t lit for the big night), everything went perfectly. I even convinced the administration to allow food in the library–only after individually wrapping all the goodies and promising that no one would open them while in the library.

Well, it’s November 7th—my art show closing reception day. If you haven’t already had the chance to check out my show, be sure to drop by tonight from 7:00-8:30pm on the first floor of the Harold B. Lee Library on Brigham Young University’s campus. Come enjoy artwork, good company, and some home-made baked goods to take home.

Interview

Today I had an interview with Ricardo Castro from the Daily Universe. He got to see my lovely home and studio space and meet my little girl. I’m not the most comfortable when it comes to interviews and talking about myself and my work, but I think it went pretty well. I guess we’ll see when the article comes out.

Neglected

Today I did the dishes.

Normally this wouldn’t be a huge accomplishment. But for the past two months I’ve primarily spent my time painting, taking care of my daughter, and being with my husband. Some household chores were pushed aside and I had no clean dishes in the cupboard. No, really.

It feels good to have a clean kitchen again.
